The Voice of the Average Christian - A Lesson in Courage.

Hey Fellow Prayer Warriors,

Who said our voices, as Christians, will not be heard? A few days ago, I had the opportunity to interview character actress, Siobhan Fallon-Hogan who stars alongside Renee Zellweger and Harry Connick Jr. in the new film, “New In Town,” which was rated PG-13. During our conversation, we covered many topics, including the fact that she’s a Christian trying to make a difference in Hollywood, but she shared something interesting with me. While screening the film last week with the media, her fellow actors and the producers, there were moments of uncomfortably for Siobhan. When the film was over, she decided to express her uneasiness with the producer, her boss mind you. I will paraphrase, but you can hear the interview in its entirety on Gospelcity.com.

He asked her what she thought of the film. She said, “ Good, but I have one bone to pick with you. I would like to bring my family to this film, but how can I do that when is has all of this profanity in it? Is it really necessary?” After sharing that he too had some apprehensions, they parted ways. A few days later, Siobhan received a call from the producer who decided to edit the film, take out the profanity and change the rating to PG.

How amazing is that?!?!?!?!?

You may not recognize her name, but if you Google her, you will certainly know who she is. We need to keep Siobhan and her endeavors as a Christian actress in prayers. Next time the producer may not be may not be as morally, ethically or spiritually stricken.

Would you have done the same? Could you have been this brave with your boss?

Share.
